On the Growth and Plus plans, you choose which of your Shopify shipping rates customers can pick for each delivery day. Checkout then shows the rates for the date your customer chose, so a Saturday delivery can cost more than a weekday one.
Set it up
In Shopify, go to Settings → Shipping and delivery and create the rates you want, each with its own price. For example, in your domestic zone: Standard at £4.95 and Saturday delivery at £9.95.
In Dalbie Dates, go to Settings → Scheduling rules. Under Shipping rates by day, each of your delivery days shows the rates it offers.
Select Choose rates on a day and tick the rates customers can pick that day. Rates are grouped by shipping zone. For the example above, tick only Saturday delivery on Saturday, and only Standard on the other days.
Save your settings.
A day with nothing ticked offers every rate, and so does a zone with nothing ticked for that day. Changing one day leaves the others as they were.
Only leave a rate out on days it can’t deliver, such as your weekday rate on a Saturday. Customers should always be able to choose the cheapest rate that delivers on the day they pick.
Show prices on the calendar
Tick Show delivery prices on the calendar under Shipping rates by day, then save. Each day on your store’s calendar then shows what delivery costs that day, so customers see the price before they choose: £4.95 under a weekday and £9.95 under a Saturday in the example above.
A day shows the cheapest rate it offers for the customer’s country. Screen readers read it out with the date.
Prices show to customers paying in your store’s currency. Shopify converts shipping prices for other currencies at checkout, so the calendar leaves those blank rather than guess.
A day whose rates depend on the order, such as free delivery over a set amount, or a rate calculated by a carrier app, shows no price.
When you change a rate’s price in Shopify, the calendar updates within a few minutes.
Particular dates
To change the rates for one date, such as Christmas Eve, add it under Date exceptions with the effect Changes shipping rates, and tick its rates. A date exception wins over the weekday’s rates, and the calendar shows that date’s price.
Good to know
Rates are saved by their Shopify ID, so you can rename a rate without choosing it again.
Customers always have at least one shipping rate: if the rates you chose don’t apply to their address, they see every rate as usual.
Local delivery, pickup, and rates calculated by a carrier app are never hidden.
With the checkout date picker on Shopify Plus, the rates change as soon as your customer picks another date.
